Teaching, Encounter Jesus & Spiderman Story

In this teaching video, Micah refers to a previous 4-week class. Healthy Prophetic Community was recorded after Healthy Prophecy.

Although you are not required to take the Healthy Prophecy course, it can be beneficial to take that course first, since Healthy Prophetic Community builds on some of the concepts in Healthy Prophecy.

Week 1 - Unity

John 17:21 NIV

“That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”

Key Takeaways:

  • Need for Prophetic Communities: Prophetic Communities are needed to help churches get healthy.
  • Unity Starts with Jesus: The Body of Christ can’t operate in unity without already resting in Jesus.
  • Unity is in Community not Isolation: Prophetic community creates space to keep you out of isolation.
  • With the People: John the Baptist could not come to the height of his ministry until he went to Jesus, who was with the people.
  • Old Testament Prophets vs John the Baptist: Old Testament prophets had encounters individually but John the Baptist led the community into encounters. Everybody had an encounter with God.
  • Prophetic Words vs Encounters: Prophecy with words is great but not the point anymore! It’s loving God and encountering Him. Example: The Throne Room is in the center of the room and everybody surrounds it to worship God. See Revelation 4-5.
  • Presence First: Prophetic community leads us to value the presence of God and as a result of valuing presence, we prophesy.
  • Perspective of Satan: Satan hates prophetic community because not only does it reveal Jesus, but it strengthens people for the mission.
  • Role of Prophet/Prophetic People: Prophetic people strengthen the community to gather around the voice of the Shepherd. (My sheep hear My voice - John 10:27)
